2020 was difficult for most of us because of the pandemic. With escalation of infections numbers spreading all around the globe it was clear, that a vaccine is needed to stop the spreading.
I started with SETI@home as a kinda early adopter already in 1999. With the evolution to BOINC in 2004 i continued volunteering for some astrophysics and natural science projects in general. For Rosetta@home i started volunteering early 2009. Volunteering was more or less constant over the years.
With the first lockdown (in Germany) in march Rosetta@Home received higher ressource shares than other projects on my desktop PC. Since then the system is crunching 24/7.
